The holiday region Ausseerland - Salzkammergut is the heart of Austria, between the mountain ranges of the Dachstein and the Totes Gebirge with the 7 villages Altaussee, Bad Aussee, Bad Mitterndorf, Grundlsee, Pichl-Kainisch, Pürgg-Trautenfels, Tauplitz/-alm.
A four star landscape offers its guests a great variety during the four seasons: A spring with mountains covered in thousands of narcissuses, summer months with cristal clear lakes, a fogless hiking autumn and snowy winter days, which allow you to pull tracks in the untouched nature.
Writers and composers such as Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Friedrich Torberg, Richard Strauss and Gustav Mahler found a second home in the Ausseerland Salzkammergut and still today the place is a meeting point mostly in the summer months for famous people from the areas of politics, business and culture. We visit Bad Aussee - here you get to see the traditional clothing worn in every day life, drive on to Grundlsee and hike from Gössl to the legendary Toplitzsee lake.
