Routing

Recommendations for your daily program: all activities can be planned by yourself depending on weather and mood (except the llama or husky hiking: fixed booking for day 6)

1st day: Individual arrival in Abersee

You will receive your travel documents at your accommodation

2nd day: Hiking tour on mount Zwölferhorn ~ 5,2 km, altitude difference: 451 m

After a leisurely breakfast, start the day by driving along the toll road to the Illingerbergalm (IMPORTANT: the toll must be paid in coins in cash on site). The hike over the Pilsteinhöhe to the Zwölferhorn and back is rewarded with a breathtaking view. Reward yourself with a stop at the hut for a little snack.

Tip: Summer Tobogganing in Strobl (payable on spot):

If you are not too exhausted after the hike, we recommend a ride on the summer toboggan run. With a track length of 1300 m, the summer toboggan run is a sport and leisure pleasure for the whole family.

3rd day: A day at Lake Wolfgangsee

From the boat station Gschwendt you start the day with a boat trip to St. Gilgen, Strobl or St. Wolfgang. With your day ticket you can get off once at each of the stations. We recommend a walk through the bustling town of St. Wolfgang with its attractions such as the pilgrimage church and the famous “White Horse Inn”. Enjoy coffee and cakes in the centre of the town in the cafe “Kaffeewerkstatt”.

4^th day: Treetop Walk Grünberg

Today´s excursion takes you to Grünberg at the Traunsee. On the Salzkammergut treetop path which you reach with the cable car, you will experience unique perspectives high above the forest floor with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Traunsee and Gmunden.

Tip: Cumberland Wildpark Grünau (payable on spot)

On a relaxing hike on well paved hiking trails through woods and meadows, along a stream and many ponds, you will cross the natural habitat of the animal inhabitants. The Grünau Zoo is home to about 500 animals. In the beginning, only native wildlife lived in the park. In the course of time, species of animals from other continents were added, including animal species that in the meantime also live wild in Austria, such as raccoons and fallow deer.

5th day: Cycling tour from Bad Ischl to Hallstatt ~ 56 km, altitude difference: á 540 m â 550 m

Today you drive to Bad Ischl by car and pick up your rental bikes at the Salzkammergut Touristik. We recommend a bike tour to the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site Hallstatt. You drive from Bad Ischl along the river Traun via Laufen to Bad Goisern. You will soon reach the deep blue Lake Hallstättersee. From Steeg you cycle along the Ostuferradweg without traffic around Lake Hallstättersee past the village of Obertraun and on to Hallstatt. Enjoy a walk through the village before returning to Bad Ischl.

6^th day: Hiking with llamas in Bad Ischl

Enjoy the nature of the Salzkammergut during an extraordinary hike with a llama. Depending on the weather and endurance, the walks with the animals can be planned individually.

Duration approx. 4 hours.

Alternative: Hiking with a husky in Ebensee

The husky hike is in the inner Salzkammergut with fascinating natural and landslide landscape, walking time approx. 2 hours (8-12 kilometers). At the end there is a cosy get-together at the ranch with a little refreshment. Duration: Total approx. 4 hours

7th day: Salzburg Salt Mine

An exciting journey of discovery deep in the mount Dürrnberg awaits you, where the miners brought the "white gold" to light over 2,500 years ago. The show mine in the Salzburger Land is the oldest in the world. The Celtic village of SALINA is located directly next to the Salzwelten. The village takes you back to the world of 2600 years ago where you will get to know the daily life of the Celts. In the salt factory you can experience the production of salt up close.

Tipp: Sightseeing in Salzburg

Salzburg is more than a city of Mozart and a festival city. In the most important sights of the city you will experience history. The Hohensalzburg Fortress, the Mozart museums, the Getreidegasse or Hellbrunn are among the most popular places in Salzburg.

8th day: Individual departure or additional nights

The 4-bed-room accommodates 2 adults + 2 children up to 12 years.
