Overnight stay in Passau.

Day 2:  Passau - Schloegen. Stage: approx. 40 km

Cycle tour from Passau via Obernzell to Schloegen. We recommend a visit of the monastery Stift Engelszell. Highlight of the day is the Schloegener Schlinge, it is an unique natural phenomenon and was appointed "natural monument" in Upper Austria in 2008.

Overnight stay in Schloegen.

Day 3:  Schloegen - Linz. Stage: approx. 56 km

On the Danube cycle path you go past Kaiserau to Aschach. We recommend taking some time to explore Aschach, with its town houses from the Middle Ages with gothic, baroque and renaissance era facades and courtyards. Then you go further to Linz. The modern provincial capital Linz, offers a variety of interesting recreational opportunities: The Ars Electronica Center or the Lentos art museum are just a few of the inviting possibilities for exploring this    city.

Overnight stay in Linz.

Day 4:  Linz - Perg. Stage: approx. 47 km

Day 5:  Perg - Maria Taferl. Stage: approx. 55 km

From Perg you go past the castles Dornbach and Greinburg. Schloss Greinburg is the oldest occupied castle in Austria and the landmark of the Grein. Then you go past the “black wall” (a curious granite formation) to Maria Taferl.

Overnight stay in Maria Taferl/Marbach.

Day 6:  Maria Taferl - Krems. Stage: approx. 54 km

From Maria Taferl you go to Melk, where we recommend a visit of the monastery Stift Melk. For more than 1000 years Melk is a spiritual and cultural centre of the country. You go further via Spitz and Duernstein, with its famous ruin Duernstein. Cycling through beautiful vineyards and fruit gardens you reach Krems.

Overnight stay in Krems.
